the electric monk - believing for you the things which the world expects you to believe!

hey-ho,
08/06/2002 Saturday
outing to haw par villa
i joined 40 elders and volunteers to haw par villa - the house of tiger and leopard. they just had their 3rd renovation. but it was disappointing when we got there. the place was rather run down. paint on structures were coming off. the only attraction was the 10 courts of hell through the body of the dragon. i still have some vague memories of the place now. minus the crowd, the theme rides, the theatres and the performance, everything else was about the same. unfortunately, the elders could not walk much. we cancelled half of the walk around the villa after they finished their bao and siew mai and headed back home. but somehow i think they did enjoy themselves coz i certainly did. why? -shrugs-
nineteen eighty-four
i just finished reading nineteen eighty-four and got rather upset. big brother is watching. the thought police are listening and watching thru the telescreens everywhere. is there anytime in our life when we are really alone? reality is as real as what you are told. two plus two is five. history is merely what the records say - no memory. a language replaces our need to think - newspeak. no love, no sex, no orgasm. our existence is a gift from the party. anyone can vaporise into thin air and never exist. the sane who is capable of individual thinking is mad in the eyes of everyone else. every statistics, every news, is propaganda of the party. we are proud of our children who denounce us and betray us - sinners of thought crime. in the darkest corner we'll see them one day. where we there is no way of calculating the hours and days or months. with hands crossed beneath our knees, we wait for endless punishments. we make endless confessions of things we could never imagine we'd done. death is not a choice but a destiny for us - thought criminals. the worst punishment is not a shot in the head, but our deepest fear which they know long ago. in the end, we all love big brother.
i am skeptical about the authorities. our government punishes severely anyone who breaks her rules. in singapore, slavery is freedom? is our government becoming big brother? prolly many people wanna speak up, but fears the consequences of doing so. and some, like me, all words no action. =/ evil with power is scary.
michelangelo
standing at awkward position near the ceiling, i tilted my head at an angle. i was painting no heavenly bodies at the Sistine chapel. just some old pvc pipes in the toilet at home. but it wasn't an easy job either. i admit i m no good at painting and shouldn't have draw comparison with such a magnificent artist. lol. perspiration was dripping before i even started. then next to start dripping was the paint.
09/06/2002 Sunday
chachacha
its sunday! wenta sch for foc senior camp todae to try out the games. And aso to try leading a buncha "freshies" who r actually the main comm'ers, ie. old birds larh. so it wasnt nice to really talk to them like freshies. therefore we sorta ignore them n stick to ourselves! lol. i guess we must had fared quite badly as GLs for the first time. hah. actually i was quite suay. first game already kena the forfiet - got black ink on my face. but i think its part of the game mah, so must be sporting bout it, then again, its just a tryout why so serious? -shrugs-
after the camp we wenta learn the rest of the dance steps. it wasn't easy coz i already forgotten whatever i learnt the last round! the new steps are definitely more challenging. with the cha cha dance steps, the twist and turns and a lil' of touchy move w the gurls. the girls r prolly quite conservative as they showed their disgust. hah. just hands over the armpits of guys to hold the shoulders from behind mah. nothing much larh. cha cha cha~* -grins-

Quiet nights of quiet stars.

iced milo. what comes first to yer mind? in one of my infamous dreams i got a new perspective of it. imagine this, lotsa milo flavour ice cream bars, throw them all into this big bowl-cup-fishbowl-lookalike-container thingy. yumm m m i e. .. ...
30-5-02
i wish i can make those chattering students shut the 'uck up in the bus!
zap away those sch boys lying against the bookshelves!
how inconsiderate of them..... i promise i'd teach my sons and daughters some good manners next time.
am i too hush on the kids? well i admit i m in a rather bad mood today...
" 'Cause it hurts me so just to see you go
Around with someone new
And if I know you, you're doin' that thing...
Everyday just doin' that thing...
I can't take you doin' that thing you do."

when you come so far, don't dig your way back. its creepy when u listen to these lyrics as they bring back memories.
31/05/02
i recommend these fabulous tracks to you:
Tom Jobim & Astrud Gilberto - Agua de Berber
Samba Da Bencao
Stan Getz & Astrud Giberto - Corcovado (Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars)
Astrud Gilberto - So Nice (summer samba)
Antonio Carlos Jobim - So Danco Samba
more annuder dae'! -grins-

WORLD CUP SPECIAL!!!
senegal 1 - france 0
so much for world cup opening match. can't wait for tmr's headlines. prolly some lashing on how poor france played. well, being the loser doesnt mean u dun play well. they were a betta side. the score do not reflect how good they played. just shorta that bit of luck for good finish - shaved the crossbar a few times! heard that some real losers who bet on france winning started to spread rumours that senegal used black magic to win. lol. talk bout the real sore losers....
most pple must be wondering whats the craze about. 22 men chasing one ball, 4 men carrying funny flags and one man running around for the whole game with a whistle and 2 cards, but neva getta get even on kick on the ball. if you are still wondering, prolly you have not seen the amount of money generated from the games. perhaps $ keeps the world spinning, not love. lol.
yeah, in $ingapore, there's nothing for free. even watching the game where with most number of spectators around the world. poor $ingaporeans havta pay $CV to watch the live telecast matches. ironically, i was able to watch the opening match on 3 different channels. coz i was blessed with this old old tv with its own antenna in my room. with it, i was able to received tv3 and ntv7.
do you know they are gonna increase the fixed line phone bills soon too? their reason is that our rate is less than half of other asian countries. what kinda reasoning is that? how can it be justifiable? this kinda comparison is totally unappropriate. $laves of $ingapore goverment, lets speak up! (no, not rally outside the istana pls) =P
and... finally, my last W O R D S...
to my friend who is going to ozy: have a safe trip, get me some nice chocs to fill up my sweet tooth! -huGs n muackz- will miss u as much as ur "D" guy misses u. one curious qns, who was yer first serious that u cant really let go? the other "D" guy?
to my friend who is already in ozy: i think winter is round the corner, getting really cold newae, so keep yerself warm with all yer sweat shirts, gloves and whatsoever you have! well, i miss u too. -winks-
to my friend who is obssessed with her new toy: i know u can do great stuffs w yer toy, send me more pictures of the cute kitties. dun forget bout to ring up yer uncle too, its real nice to hoola with u on the line.
to my friend who is enjoying his holiday: ps2 and broadband, i wish i have those too man. u play hard, i think sch will reopen in no time. heh.
to my friend who is more havoc than me: hey, how come u aint writing as much as u do during sch days? write more pls.
to my friend who is absolutely stunning: end of working life for the time being, and the starting of the great sale. i bet u must be really happy now. when are we gonna visit the 2ndhand cd store again? and hows the progress of those buttons? cant wait to get them.
to someone who i aint sure is still a friend or not: well, i still treat u as one, despite not being able to contact u in anyway. good friends aint ez to come by. u were really good as a friend and i m really sincere bout our f/s. so perhaps one day when you changed yer mind bout everything, we can be good friends again. i hope even at times when u r most despair, u'd rem i still treat u as ur friend and wld help u in whatever way i can. hope u have a good time when sch starts. -huGs-

so-nice, that'd be so-nice.

dear diary,
:: 3_4_02 ::
1 2 3, up! 1 2 3, up! twenty men tried to pull up a five metre wide notice board up 4 stories from the corridor. they used just 4 tape ropes to secure the board up. two guys used handphones to coordinate the movement. from the face of the struggling men, i think it must be damm heavy. a few men stood on the parapet to pull the board. i feared for them. what if somebody fell off? what if the board halfway up, crash down on pple below. i imagined fallin head on the ground, skull cracking, blood oozing out. the plunge prolly will take less than a sec. luckily nothing of that sort happened. it took them 30mins to finally get the board up. thats how long i waited outside the seminar room b4 my GE started. i think we shd really appreciate all those lil' facilities in sch. although they aint that wonderful. coz it takes hardwork of many to put them up for us to use. so next time dun rock that chair, or scribble on the table ok? heheh. was guilty of thatt....
memorable run: i thought that mon's run was the longest i ever did (179+199 cutting thru hall 14, ie. plenty of slopes). today's run was even longer. we headed outta ntu thru jalan bahar, then hong kah west, somewhere in boon lay then back to nanyang extension and pioneer road north exit. took us 1hr to finish the run. the route was quite pleasant, nice and flat. just for one interesting incident along the way... at the jalan bahar exit, one street lamp went off when we ran past it, then my friend utter something not so auspicious, the two consecutive street lamps after that also went off when we ran past them. i think it was prolly just coincidental la. the road was rather misty and quite and errie w those overgrowing trees.. hmmmmm.... =p we washed our shoes and feet when we came back. friend said suppose to be symbolic or whatsoever. and 3 is unlucky? haha. just do lor. =O)
countdown: 19 days to first exam paper / 1 mth to birthday! =)
.`::5_4_02::`.
no more sc106 lab. today was the last electronics lab for this sem and i did not have my oral quiz yet. this is it! coz according to the order from the previous lab, i'd be tested by the lab supvr from hell. at the last 30mins, i still wasn't tested. the other lab supvr, a/p wong k k walked over to me and said, "you have not been tested yet right? ok u'll be next, must test, must test. *smilesmile*" phew~! i can't believe my luck. the oral assessment turned out to be a breeze. he was impressed w my log book, said it was very neat or something. i answered his qns w my limited knowledge. turned out i got them all correct. he asked if i got A for electronics last sem. lol. commented that i can understand what he was saying. thank goodness! after 2hrs of anxiety, i was so hungry... my friend sitting a few rows back was cursing n swearing cuz he was tested by the lab supvr from hell. ~~~ booo.
b'dae party.i wenta hall ten to celebrate my foc cgl's burdae. earlier on we sent her to somewhere to study so that we can give her a surprise when she comes back. from my previous experiences of pple celebrating bdaes in my hall, i was expecting a wild time. lol. when the burdae girl finally arrived, there was the usual 'cut-cake-photograph-taking-open-presents-kinda-stuffs'.. no chasing ard with water hose! no throwing of cakes! no screaming! no wedgies! hehehe. so dull!!! hah... but i was deeply touched w how her friends came together to celebrate her bdae on a friday night when most pple were mugging for exams.
leslie, yer ever so hungry friend.
p.s. hungry for food la. =p

Bipolar Junction Transistor

hey hey,
you haven't been hearing from me coz i had been really busy. maybe thats a good thing for u huh? =P
its less than one month to the start of exams. anyway how r u doing? neva hear from u either.

23_03_02 ----> it was the last session of my eca, RSP elders, b4 exams. to make it special, we made sandwiches for the folks. the sandwiches were stuffed w eggs cooked in all kinda styles. mayo eggs, scarmbled eggs, fried eggs...etc. i managed to learn something new while cutting the cucumbers. lol. you have to cut of the head of the cucumber, rub it against the edge of the cut, till some white form comes out. supposedly, this will make the cucumber taste not so bitter. neva know that! 'kay 'kay, prolly its just me who is ignorant to these kinda cooking tricks. newae, the final products was wonderful according to the folks. i had a good time giving out the sandwiches too! its such satisfaction to see the folks smiling at you and enjoying what u made for them.
in the end there was quite alot of eggs leftover, we played some guessing no. game and 7UP to get pple to forfiet and eat the eggs
evening went for dinner outing with the other FOC GLs at holland v. it was my first outing with them. they were rather friendly pple, i guess most volunteers must be nice pple. hehehe. anyway we cld't decide which fancy restaurant to go. Ended up in nydc. i had baked rice and mudpie. yum yum.

24_03_03 ---------> and now... i am in hall, struggling to finish up my formal lab report due next sat. -sigh- prolly gonna spend more time in hall over the next few weekends.
other updates: i m still sticking to my running regime. average of 3 times per week rd the sch by the 179 or 199 or 179+199 routes. it feels so good when you come back from run! such energy! but when it wears of in bout an hr, i'd feel so dead tired. lol

I'm your Venus, I'm your Fire, your Desire

Sigh-yike. So many things I wanna do but have not started working on them. Think I betta write it down, before I forget again. Remind me in the near future...

**sHoRt rUn**

one ~ Start an e-zine (ie. go learn Flash and CSS)

two ~ Learn howta cook (ie. able to prepare an edible, tasty four dishes, one soup meal)

three ~ Improve my photograhy skills. (ie. splash out a few hundred dollars for some expensive equipments including new SLR, a couple of lens, filters, tripod, camera bag, a couple of Lomos for fun, and maybe finallyenroll in an actual camera handling course.)

four ~ Learn more bout filming (not just press the red button la, everyone can do that.. learn some techniques, and video editingtricks)

five ~ Practice more drumming (www.drummergirl.com <--- found this good site for d.i.y. in drumming.. guys can go aso la. heh)

six ~ Get more lobang to do comm work if my time permits. (ie, make time thru less slacking, intensed revision. ( this one is difficult)

**lOnG rUn**

one ~ backpack travelling around europe, states/canada (esp. quebec) , china and hopefully india too (ie. gotta have lotsa $$$, work out all the details, study bout the route, languages, geography, culture, get a sub-notebook, videocam, normal cam, physically fit, woah. a whole lot. but thats where the short term targets come useful.) i wanna see for real whats shown in the tube, taste the delicious foodies, interview ppl, make friends, record it all down. bring home postcards, music, sights n sounds, experiences, contacts, yadayada.. u get the picture. =p its one big journey! i invite u along. (",)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

26_02_02 ===> i finished watching a beautiful mind while trying to study discrete maths (yea, multi-tasking -again-). its bout john forbes nash, a genius in maths, with huge appetite for codes. and then, a twist in the prime of his career. -phew- i neva like maths. but its really cool to have nobel winner walking ard ur campus - till today, john nash still walks ard the campus of princeton. i wonder if there r any greats walking ard ntu. hrmmmmmz. anyway i recommend this movie 2 u. =). hope i din talk too much bout it to ruin the show.

02_03_02 ====> i made my way down to SIR in the morning to extend my passport. i thought i was early, but there were 50 numbers b4 mine in the queue. luckily many were not there when their numbers were called. so skip skip skip to my turn in half an hour. the actual stamping and updating took less than a min. So efficient! after which i checked out the Central National Library @ Stanford Rd for some referemce materials to write my essay lorh. followed by 2 hrs in ymca mac studying convolution. lol. after bummin ard orchard, i got my first taste of singapore fans (not my fans la, fans of WEWE) at heerens. they were all screeming la, surrounding the stage and the corridors. so i din getta see anything. din matter anyway. =p you know who are the WEWE? was it worse a J8 the other day when F4 came to town? hope u aint guilty of being one of those there. bleahhhh. silly band names. WEWE, F4?? How about backspace or num lockhuh? creative.

the evening news reported that the famous underwear thief of NTU was charged on court today. it turned out that the thief was a 31 yr-old guy who drove around ntu to different halls. he'd grab a few pieces of expensive female undergarments from the clothesline and hide them under his shirt. from the picture published in the sch's newspaper, i thought he looked like a hall resident (pic on sundae times was covered w mosaic on his face). Was he trying to imitate his idol in Ranma 1/2? pervertic.

03_03_02 ===> finally got my taste of tour de NTU by foot. the sucky network was down. feeling bored i decided to run @ ard 9.15pm. the first few hundred metres was the yunnan garden, fountains, chinese heritage centre and the expressway. everything sorta glow in the dark. then it was a stretch of the road along hall 7 which was rather errie. it was so quiet that i cld only hear the sounds of insects - hostelites of hall 7 and 3 are so much more well-behaved. =p. i tried to stay focus and not imagine too much, but the winding road and trees gave me the feeling of being lost in some neva ending road - like those chinese ghost serials. the gradual up-slope outside the CEE fingers was so long that it almost killed me when i was only halfway up. i tried to pick up my pace whenever 179 whiz by and when i ran past busstops (dun wanna sia suay mah). the downslope to NIE was a breeze. but the ground was uneven as there was construction of the new biotech buildings on the side. the construction site was dark and dangerous. i decided to focus on my running and not wonder in. more downslope past lib 1 to hall 2. i saw more pple too. the end was near when i past the hall 6 bus-stop. from behind "tum tum tum" one guy ran past me in amazing speed. i wasn't ready to catch up w him coz i was just steps from hall 1 bus-stop, my finishing point. my timing? -shrugs- i was happy i made it. perhaps i'd start running in the evening from now on. i sorta stopped running in the morning after week2. lol.

till next time .study hard.~*

20:02/20-02-2002

15 Feb 2002 was a special day coz it was the same day of the month, week (Friday), sixty years ago that singapore fall into the hands of the japanese. I remember learning from history txtbk that it was also CNY that year. it was a horrifying memory for most of our old folks. I m mentioning it here coz the siren went off for appr. 30secs in ntu on Friday evening.. and it could be heard islandwide as a commemoration of that faithful day. let us take 10secs of silence in memory of those who fell for the nation....

God bless them n their family...

bits from sch....

have you ever sat in a lect in which the people besides you talk thru out the lect? in ntu, ce lect, the one i attend, there r quite a few of these people ard. in particular, the indians from india. i'm not being racist when i single them out coz its a phenomenon here and gets on my nerve alot. they talk loudly in the speed of bullet, as if the rest of the pple r wear headphones and can only hear what the lecturer is saying. they also call out to each other sitting rows across. they rock their legs in a way you feel their wonderful sense of rhythm on the back of ur seat. they stretch their hands out to the back in a way that they can tickle your knees. perhaps next time one indian from india decides to sit beside me and engage in an amusing conversation w his friend during lect, i'll stuck my mechanical pencil down his throat. =) hopethat he gets my point.

students aint the only weird pple ard. my maths lecturer (dressed in shirt n tie) laid flat on the table this morning while waiting for students to come in. he later said that he had a tired weekend. i thot he wanted to get our attention coz pple dun stop talking, or mabe he just wanted to get into the top-10 most interesting lecturer inntu?

pieces from outside..

a lil' boy who sat beside me puke all over the seat on the train. i din realise the mess he made till i saw pple staring at his direction and there was a strange stench in the air. (i had my earplugs-style-phones on and was engrossed in studying my notes mah). of coz the first thing that came to my mind was whether i kena his puke or not. lol. okok, try not to imagine that, i know its gross. but then i started thinking how the boy feel. the poor thing must have eaten too much cny goodies and got train-sick. i bet he was feeling really embarassed. (its like stan from southpark puking whenever he see the girl he likes) well, the commendable thing is that his parents were what i consider as considerate singaporeans. they din just walk away from the mess. they helped the boy changed his clothes, use tissuepuked. lol.

20_02_2002

today i sat beside this guy who smelled like he applied a few tubes of SAF insect repellent all over himself.

(20:02 20-02-2002 supposed to be really signficant. isnt any other day, any other min, sec significant too, they are each unique and won'treturn for us....)

25_02_2002

you know how it is always very difficult to get buy things which you are looking for, and that they are usually available almost everywhere? i firmly believe its true. my friend told me that giordano sells cheap ankle socks, so i decided to check out the shop at northpoint. it was 1130 this morning and the store was still closed. strange isnt it? so i thot perhaps i can get it at the stall in jurong point. the shop at jp was under renovation! i ended up getting my socks at BATA. $5.99 for two pairs. cheap sia. =p

i think this mail is getting stale, time to mail it out! wEeeEeEEeEEE~~~ "you've got mail!"

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

"fishballs, sotong balls, meat balls...cuttlefish, prawns, scallops, quail eggs, fish, chicken, fa cai, tang-oh (some kinda vege u put in the soup), abalone, shark fin, suan4 cai4 (eat already can do well in maths), pig stomach, yu sheng..... yes, i am talking bout steamboat. usually nobody manages to finish the dinner. like looking at the food wld make u full. after dinner, children will bathe and change into new pjs, drink the diam teng (sweet soup with logan, mu er, red dates.. etc.), and wait for ang bao from mummy and daddy..(ya1 shui4 qian2, suppose to help u grow faster)

i no longer wear new pj on cny eve, but i'm still thrilled to get ang bao from my parents. its not bout the money, but some other reason which i duno howta explain......

9_02_02 ===> yay! its finally sat! so glad tat i gotta go home. but who wld have expected my long weekend was gonna start in a strange way -"story of my missin' wallet"...."i had this vision of losing it the whole week (thats y i haben carry a wallet for a long time). i guess it was a moment of carelessness. i left my wallet on the table during breakfast at canteen2. i discovered it only after the lec. went straight to can2 to search for it (coz that's prolly the only time i took out my wallet). the clean-table-auntie said she din see. so i went back to LT, following exactly the same path i took in the morning... then i decided to go back give the auntie my hp no. so that she can call me if she finds it. i stayed at the canteen for awhile, waiting for my friend who was eating his lunch. Then i received a call saying that someone picked up my wallet in the morning and passed it to the sell-drinks-auntie. my wallet and i then
live happily every after!"

my bed is so nice! so relaxing lorh. i love my bed! hmmmm... earlier this week, the pc at home crashed. 'windows protection error. system halt.' (corrupted windows?!) packard bell shucks. my dad solved e prob by getting a new hard disk and copying data over, then restoring to factory settings. but he did not copy my data over. my scans of articles from bigo and high cost of living were all gone... -sadsad-

that wasnt the only prob. the usb keyboard cant be detected... i havta rely on the on-screen kb... i am practically clicking out EVERY letterin this mail NOW. -seeing stars and finger starting to cramp- ... the other time mouse spoil i also improvised... but i must say having a defective kb is definitely a more painful experience...

cny eve ===> i tried very hard to finish my 106 electronics lab (4 graphs to draw) its the third day in a row i am trying. wasnt too successfuleither.

my dad bought a new wooden rice container. but the two sacks of rice were filled with those lil' rice-eating black bugs (whats their name).... 'so MANY 'kae!'....-shudders- So i helped him to get rid of those pests one by one. searched for them grain by grain. some of those pests were breeding inside the grain itself. if you break it, they'll crawl out!

this year we had reunion dinner in the dining hall instead of kitchen. the food looked more appetizing there. there were more 6 chairs. i secretly wondered how nice it'd be if one day my wife/gf can sit there and have reunion dinner wmy family. =p

14_02_02 valentine ===> cny wasnt very eventful... there weren't a pretty girls out there. i wonder if that gonna be the trend for the next few years? had been dreaming bout granny on the past few days, it was like she's still around with us.. hmm.... anyway the supposely long weekend is over. -frowns-

a girl carried a heart-shaped balloon into the LT this morning. the crowd went "WOW". maybe CE folks are easily amused? i bet almost every girl in the biz/acct lec is carrying a balloon or some gifts from their admirer/bf. or perhaps they skipped it altogether and are in town having a good time? i don't have a valentine. so i am here typing this mail and gonna do my labs and tutorials later. but i m glad to know that if time permits, someone wld actually wanna go for dinner w me? -winks- bleahhhhhhhh.... happy valentine! -huGs-

Cannot Make It!

been wondering why neva get any mails bout my life lately, or not even those jokes i send out weekly? its becoz.... i have been really busy. not that i am free now, but i am taking a well-deserved break. lol. coz i just finished doing my programming lab and the program works! isn't that wonderful? lol.

haben been sleeping much recently. sleep at average of 0130 or 0200 hrs everyday and wake up at 0830 daily. had been spending more and more hours in school last few weeks. today, 7 hours of lessons. but that just means that i aint spending that 3-4 hrs in btwn lecs and tut in the lib..but attendingmake-up tutorials (coz of cny next week).

"just now a girl came knocking on my door. she was selling tibits. she said its for charity, so i immediately bought one pack, $2... then after she went off i realised.. mabe she's not selling for charity or whatever, shd have asked what r the beneficiaries! but the cheese balls tastedgreat anyway. lol. "

"it was 2hrs tut on technical writing report. i find the tut pretty silly. you'll understand why as i go on...

in the 1st task of the tut, they gave us some data, figures.. supposed to put the data into a table and chart. i insisted that my grp just draw it out on the paper and put it on the visualizer. we were the first to present.. haha. looks kinda sloppy, but clear and simple. the other groups used excel to make the bar charts.. they had trouble switching displaying their screen into the main screen.. prob w the control. den they tried to print chart to display on the visualizer.. prob w the printer.... it was like 10mins later b4 they managed to present their work. lol. i knew that we can't trust too muchon technology!

task 2, supposed to write out some instructions on "howta clean the mouse" to a 10-year-old child. and we insisted on writing on paper again! hehe. this guy went up and demo on howta unscrew the lid... take out the mouse trackball.... clean it.. etc.. on the visualizer. lol. giant mouse! he add that mouse ball doesnt taste nice, so betta not put it in themouth.

task 3, supposed to think of an equipement and do a description or instruction on it.. we.. erm.. did the mouse again. lol. talked bout functions of the single click n double click. another group didmonitor..... and one did the keyboard!

so a buncha Computer Engine undergrad had a good time discussing howta clean the mouse. lol. "

"now i am very shack.. coz evening i wenta nanyang house to do "cho gang".. hard labour la. =p move chairs/ tables/ bottles of drinks..etc... from there to the nanyang audit. coz tmr is the starting of the volunteerism week, so gotta set up the stalls at the audit.. not many pple turn up to do manual work. haha... so had a good work out... hopefully tmr my hands wun tremble when i hold a cup or pen. unfortunately, as i dun have much muscles... i end up getting many red lines
on my arms.. like cuts.. but no exactly cut or bleeding. looks more like i had been abused badly. lol. den next 2 days still gotta man a booth.. once in NIE once in canteen A. so sian ar! gotta ask pple buy something to raise fund... this kinda job hardta to do! anyway in the name of volunteerism.. i think it all shd be worthwhile...
"

btw, i bought my cny clothes yesterday.. one levi's engineered jeans, two tees. was quite tired walking whole day... duno why these days cannot make it. yahyah... cannot make it.. now i m dead tired. gonna retire to lala land!

*pOoveriSed!~*

All Those Lonely Nights!

salutations to all dear readers!

i am really thrilled that you wanted to read bout my life. -spend the next few sec basking in the limelight- oooo. very honoured indeed. the next wonderful thing is now i have 2 people on my mailing list! however, i am afraid i will be boring you everytime you read my mails coz this ain't exactly the celebrity diary you're reading. i m neither adrian mole nor sue townsend. neither talented nor ecentric. totally dull - you get the picture?

07_01_02 ===>>monday: sccumbed to the delicious chicken cullet. alas. i cld't keep to my mighty 5 bucks budget for the first day - spent 30 cents more. well, nobody can blame me for that. one big piece of golden tender crispy meat. its worth every-single-cent

08_01_02 ===>>tuesday: when i woke up, i found myself in my room at home. i can see the closet.. wait a min, i m supposed to be in the hall. i opened my eyes real wide .. den all of sudden, that i was back in hall. it was a nightmare! -duh- lol. newae its 0615hrs and i was awake for a good cause. ran to the tracks - first time making use of the ntu sporting facilities. =p. did six rounds - first time running in six mths. 0830 lecs ended at 1030, friggin' early. wanted to take the noon nap, but roomie said if i do, the morn' run wld be useless. determined to downsize my flattering tumtum, i stayed awake. read three BigO (before i grow old - magazine) front to back, upside downside (really, there r two diff covers on each side) many many times. sat infront of pc all day downloading songs from local acts. (sigh typical typical comp. geek) my roomie spent the afternoon watchin casablanca and gone with the wind, before he started to talk to me like the actor in the show. Weird!

09_01_02 ====>>wednesday: supposed to have GE (general elective) at SR2 -- the location. what is SR2?? I have no idea! its not even on the map. Went with three other friends to find it... finally found this Seminar Room 2 at N3 of South Spine. we sat there for 15mins. no lec, not even other students. so we left lorh. after a few hrs my friend's who is taking another GE told me that there's SR2 in N4 too!!! how come NTU so many SR2??

10_01_02 ====>>thursday: 1 x blueberry waffle. 1 x tea-puccino. 1 x famous cartel cheese cake. 1 x peach fuzz. $23.23. and then..."boring, no chemistry" all that.. it must had been the most disasterous one-on-one i ever had. i felt absolute crap! i felt totally "eww" and "arghs". instead of headin' home, i wenta hmv and blast large amount of loud loud smashing pumpkin's "1979". i was feelin' out right crap. gotta make myself feel BIG (think BIG of myself, oh-am-all-so-impt, to leave the mood up abit).. i was sinking down fast! okay. maybe i wasn't that emo. l... i bought a copy on BigO and read it as i listen. a woman boarded the train at jurong west. she had rudolf's nose. i cld see the sadness in her eyes.. like gonna cry.. but holding it back. sigh. maybe she had arough day too. maybe i shall vow celibacy.

It went on and on!

greetings. its real nice reading bout ur life. i feel a strong urge to spill out every lil' details bout mine to u too NOT. don't u worry, u wun hear too much bout me coz its just so boring mah.=3Dp

sem2 day 1: 3 lec in a row. first time for me. managed to stay awake tho'. The maths lec drove us nuts coz he went on to elaborate on how impt it is for us to practice writing. he even talked bout how some pple's 5 looks like S. bah. all that.. and his bottom line is that no lec notes will be given.
he'd write the notes on the spot and we copy every word he writes. and mabe 2 weeks later.. we can get the pdf format of those "notes" in his folder! itsmaths lehhhhh... i duno howta cope man.

i have this thot in my mind: it'd be great if they assess us just on the lect attendance. all we havta do is go attend lec and then we getthe degree! those who skip dun get la. =p

had $2 chicken rice for lunch. think i m on the course to succesfully keep to my budget of $5 per day! heh. aiyar wanna save mah.. coz wanna buy a palm. friends all ask me buy one for what. they say i m
prolly just being a poseur. contrary to their thinking, the palm is more than just an organizer. there's so many applications u can run on it.. and i can read ebook! so i m saving for it lorh... hoping to work again next sem for the money too.

tmr: i think it'd be even betta. coz just 2 lec in the morning. 830 again.. all my lec this sem 830 la. =D)

nye & nyd: i spent it in hall lorh. coincidentally my roomie was in. no countdown or any of those crap la. c'mon.. we so old liao...dun do such thing. lol. u know i last time sure go suntec and sentosa one...with tview chatters or sch friends lorh. actually i kinda like the sand... the moonlight. dancing at the sunset bay. but pretty sick of all the crowd.... u like crowd? anyway during the day time i wenta orchard walk walk....walk walk the next day i went there walk walk again.... lol.. managed to finished
this book i was reading halfway at borders the day b4. anyway wanna get a pair of slacks lor. but everything still so ex despite the SALE. yea.. armani x-change 50% off..now only $120 like that lor. cooooow. so i end up spending my money on my fav stuffs - books & cd.

wed mambo nite: was surprised to see u at the bash la. actually i dun go bash... anymore. but its sci bash, my friends in the committee. so i support him. phuture was playing nice songs that day.. i went there to chill out. left bout 2.00. wenta the gas station to buy a drink after that... talk bout drink.. i spent 8buks on a bottle of evian at zouk! -grumbles- was dyhdrating so no choice. but really, waste of $. at the shell station one whole row of nus gurls were sitting there with me and my friends. lol. but my friend neva intro anyone to us, he was too busy with something....lol... 22bucks for cab fare home. i paid just 3bucks coz i was last to get off. hee. newae the nextday mum talked to me bout where i went

mum: last night u came home very late right?

me: yeah. bout 3 lorh.

mum: i told u not to go out play till so late then come back.

me: aiyar...

mum: where u went?

me: erm. nus event.

mum: oh.. okay. -smile smile- next time come back earlier.

mabe parents worry more bout their children as the children grow older? =p she neva really asked so much when i go clubbing during my army days or when i go tonn at sentosa or chalet or ecp or whatever when i was merely 15 -16.

10 days after christmas: they say 26th of dec is called boxing day coz pple put the leftovers from their sumptuous christmas dinner into boxes and give to poor pple.. is that true?? anyway.... its a fridae. its not like some significant day, so i thot 10 days after christmas wld be quite meaningful to
mention. lol. wenta temple to pray pray that day. called my friend who live nearby to come out after that mah.

mum: ok lorh, u can go out with ur friend later. mabe u can have lunch with us first? So u going out with boy or girl?

me: girl lorh. not going for lunch, going for coffee with her.

mum: huh? girl ar? -laugh laugh- from sch one is it?

me: no lar. outside know one la.

mum: -smile smile laugh laugh-

eh... u get my pt here???

future: back with vengence. this sem gonna be tough. so tough. so so tough. i m afraid i mite start slacking again leh.

i aso not that young anymore. 22 liao. needta start on my fyp soon...lol. birthdays are always overrated for me... i'll be so excited for it...for the day to come. in the end nothing much happen. just glad that at least some pple will rem, sms me or whatever on that day. i got quite a few "erm.. i m
not very sure.. but i think its your birthday today right? happy birthday" kinda messages last year lorh. but at least my family always rem and we'll always go somewhere nice to eat.

When's ur 20th burdae huh? u must gimme ur add. i wanna give u a big present.. big from my heart not in monetary value. =p

take care & good luck!
