the electric monk - believing for you the things which the world expects you to believe!

hey-ho,
08/06/2002 Saturday
outing to haw par villa
i joined 40 elders and volunteers to haw par villa - the house of tiger and leopard. they just had their 3rd renovation. but it was disappointing when we got there. the place was rather run down. paint on structures were coming off. the only attraction was the 10 courts of hell through the body of the dragon. i still have some vague memories of the place now. minus the crowd, the theme rides, the theatres and the performance, everything else was about the same. unfortunately, the elders could not walk much. we cancelled half of the walk around the villa after they finished their bao and siew mai and headed back home. but somehow i think they did enjoy themselves coz i certainly did. why? -shrugs-
nineteen eighty-four
i just finished reading nineteen eighty-four and got rather upset. big brother is watching. the thought police are listening and watching thru the telescreens everywhere. is there anytime in our life when we are really alone? reality is as real as what you are told. two plus two is five. history is merely what the records say - no memory. a language replaces our need to think - newspeak. no love, no sex, no orgasm. our existence is a gift from the party. anyone can vaporise into thin air and never exist. the sane who is capable of individual thinking is mad in the eyes of everyone else. every statistics, every news, is propaganda of the party. we are proud of our children who denounce us and betray us - sinners of thought crime. in the darkest corner we'll see them one day. where we there is no way of calculating the hours and days or months. with hands crossed beneath our knees, we wait for endless punishments. we make endless confessions of things we could never imagine we'd done. death is not a choice but a destiny for us - thought criminals. the worst punishment is not a shot in the head, but our deepest fear which they know long ago. in the end, we all love big brother.
i am skeptical about the authorities. our government punishes severely anyone who breaks her rules. in singapore, slavery is freedom? is our government becoming big brother? prolly many people wanna speak up, but fears the consequences of doing so. and some, like me, all words no action. =/ evil with power is scary.
michelangelo
standing at awkward position near the ceiling, i tilted my head at an angle. i was painting no heavenly bodies at the Sistine chapel. just some old pvc pipes in the toilet at home. but it wasn't an easy job either. i admit i m no good at painting and shouldn't have draw comparison with such a magnificent artist. lol. perspiration was dripping before i even started. then next to start dripping was the paint.
09/06/2002 Sunday
chachacha
its sunday! wenta sch for foc senior camp todae to try out the games. And aso to try leading a buncha "freshies" who r actually the main comm'ers, ie. old birds larh. so it wasnt nice to really talk to them like freshies. therefore we sorta ignore them n stick to ourselves! lol. i guess we must had fared quite badly as GLs for the first time. hah. actually i was quite suay. first game already kena the forfiet - got black ink on my face. but i think its part of the game mah, so must be sporting bout it, then again, its just a tryout why so serious? -shrugs-
after the camp we wenta learn the rest of the dance steps. it wasn't easy coz i already forgotten whatever i learnt the last round! the new steps are definitely more challenging. with the cha cha dance steps, the twist and turns and a lil' of touchy move w the gurls. the girls r prolly quite conservative as they showed their disgust. hah. just hands over the armpits of guys to hold the shoulders from behind mah. nothing much larh. cha cha cha~* -grins-

i wish i can make those chattering students shut the 'uck up in the bus!
zap away those sch boys lying against the bookshelves!
how inconsiderate of them..... i promise i'd teach my sons and daughters some good manners next time.
am i too hush on the kids? well i admit i m in a rather bad mood today...
" 'Cause it hurts me so just to see you go
Around with someone new
And if I know you, you're doin' that thing...
Everyday just doin' that thing...
I can't take you doin' that thing you do."

when you come so far, don't dig your way back. its creepy when u listen to these lyrics as they bring back memories.

WORLD CUP SPECIAL!!!
senegal 1 - france 0
so much for world cup opening match. can't wait for tmr's headlines. prolly some lashing on how poor france played. well, being the loser doesnt mean u dun play well. they were a betta side. the score do not reflect how good they played. just shorta that bit of luck for good finish - shaved the crossbar a few times! heard that some real losers who bet on france winning started to spread rumours that senegal used black magic to win. lol. talk bout the real sore losers....
most pple must be wondering whats the craze about. 22 men chasing one ball, 4 men carrying funny flags and one man running around for the whole game with a whistle and 2 cards, but neva getta get even on kick on the ball. if you are still wondering, prolly you have not seen the amount of money generated from the games. perhaps $ keeps the world spinning, not love. lol.
yeah, in $ingapore, there's nothing for free. even watching the game where with most number of spectators around the world. poor $ingaporeans havta pay $CV to watch the live telecast matches. ironically, i was able to watch the opening match on 3 different channels. coz i was blessed with this old old tv with its own antenna in my room. with it, i was able to received tv3 and ntv7.
do you know they are gonna increase the fixed line phone bills soon too? their reason is that our rate is less than half of other asian countries. what kinda reasoning is that? how can it be justifiable? this kinda comparison is totally unappropriate. $laves of $ingapore goverment, lets speak up! (no, not rally outside the istana pls) =P
and... finally, my last W O R D S...
to my friend who is going to ozy: have a safe trip, get me some nice chocs to fill up my sweet tooth! -huGs n muackz- will miss u as much as ur "D" guy misses u. one curious qns, who was yer first serious that u cant really let go? the other "D" guy?
to my friend who is already in ozy: i think winter is round the corner, getting really cold newae, so keep yerself warm with all yer sweat shirts, gloves and whatsoever you have! well, i miss u too. -winks-
to my friend who is obssessed with her new toy: i know u can do great stuffs w yer toy, send me more pictures of the cute kitties. dun forget bout to ring up yer uncle too, its real nice to hoola with u on the line.
to my friend who is enjoying his holiday: ps2 and broadband, i wish i have those too man. u play hard, i think sch will reopen in no time. heh.
to my friend who is more havoc than me: hey, how come u aint writing as much as u do during sch days? write more pls.
to my friend who is absolutely stunning: end of working life for the time being, and the starting of the great sale. i bet u must be really happy now. when are we gonna visit the 2ndhand cd store again? and hows the progress of those buttons? cant wait to get them.
to someone who i aint sure is still a friend or not: well, i still treat u as one, despite not being able to contact u in anyway. good friends aint ez to come by. u were really good as a friend and i m really sincere bout our f/s. so perhaps one day when you changed yer mind bout everything, we can be good friends again. i hope even at times when u r most despair, u'd rem i still treat u as ur friend and wld help u in whatever way i can. hope u have a good time when sch starts. -huGs-
